Birthing from Within Prenatal Class with Dancing Star Birth Founder, Sarah Juliusson
November 18th - 20th at Pomegranate Midwives
(Friday 7-9:30 p.m., Saturday 9 - 4 p.m., Sunday 9 - 1 p.m.)

Including a special focus on birthing traditions from around the world

This 100% by donation prenatal class is an extraordinary opportunity to prepare for the birth of your child while also supporting the important maternal-child health work of Shanti Uganda. We trust you to decide on an amount that is both respectful of your family finances, the fantastic prenatal class you will enjoy, and in recognition of the important impact that your donation will have in supporting midwifery care in rural Uganda.

The regular cost for a prenatal class with Dancing Star Birth is $260. We welcome donations of any amount for your participation in this class - suggested range $50 - $500. Whatever amount you are able to donate, we recognize that each of you is making a real and important contribution to global maternal-child health.

Supporting birthing families in the Lower Mainland, we witness the high quality of medical care available, and feel absolute gratitude for the diverse options that local families have in birth.

In stark contrast to this, in Uganda a woman has a 1 in 10 chance of dying from maternal causes in her lifetime, giving birth to an average of 6.7 children. This is a hard statistic to even imagine, and we hope to do our small part to help make a difference in lives of these women and children.

The Shanti Uganda Birth House & Learning Centre in Nsaasi village supports 30 - 50 birthing mothers each month, serving as a model education facility for midwives across the country. Our support of Shanti Uganda is one small way to extend the support we offer to your family to families in Uganda whose choices are so limited.
