Birth Doula Care with Lucy French

I attended my first home birth when I was 9 years old, and felt in awe of the birth process and her supportive birth team. I am now the mother of two beautiful teenagers (one born in the hospital, and one at home) and my experience as a mother guides me as a doula. I have been supporting pregnant women and their families for over ten years. A Certified Birth Doula with DONA, I also bring extensive breastfeeding training to my care. In addition, I offer prenatal classes as a Birthing From Within Mentor with Dancing Star Birth.

I believe in women's innate strength, and am in awe of the inner power and wisdom that women engage during labour and birth. I am passionate about supporting women and their families during childbirth and the sometimes challenging days that follow. I have worked with many different family structures, including straight, same-sex, and single parent families. For me, being a doula means bringing whatever is needed into each moment, and each mother and family is unique. As a doula, I know that my place is ever-changing, and my goal is to provide quiet and mindful care and support, allowing you to focus on the important work of labour and gain the most from your experience.

Lucy's warmth, kindness, empathy, and enthusiasm helped me feel grounded and confident going into birth and parenthood.
